n December of 1531, a Dark Mother known by the name of Virgin de Guadalupe appeared to a peasant by the name of Juan Diego. She asked him to go to the bishop and build a chapel on the old sacred site where the Azteca worshipped the Goddess Tonantzin. Today her sacred site is on the sacred hill of Tepeayac in the outskirts of Mexico City. Her apparition continues to be celebrated every December 12. As a Dark Mother of Mexico, she is also one of the most known Goddesses in the world, bringing forth consciousness of cultural pride, equality, faith, freedom, and artistic expression.
The apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe came to the people of the Aztec culture in a great time of Prophecy. The Spanish Conqueror Cortez and his men had arrived in Mexico and were in the process of destroying this rich ancient culture. The Dark Mother is a great symbol of transformation needed for times in history. She is a figure that has and continues to bring forth a personal revolution within ourselves and the way we view the world. The revolution the Virgin of Guadalupe brought forth was the new race of Mexico known as the Mestizos, the end of the human sacrifice, and teachi ngs to help this new race live a better life in compassion.
In this talk, Maria Teresa will discuss the Prophecy of the Virgin of Guadalupe, and the teachings brought forth for the Aztec people. She will also give you an understanding of how this Dark Mother's teachings are still very appropriate for this current prophetic time in history in which we live, especially as we move toward 2012.
